step naming

is it possible to name every other file? how do i do this?

i have a folder with 100 files, 50 named xx-frontcover, 50 named xx-backcover. i want to change xx-frontcover to 1_xx-frontcover and 2_xx-backcover.

I wìll suggest to first add the 50 frontcovers and rename them. After that you can clear the list, add the backcovers and rename those. You can use the search facility of Windows explorer to find all the frontcovers and backcovers and drag them onto the list of Advanced Renamer.
